Orange Chiffon Cake

Ingredients


1 cup flour

¾ cup of castor sugar

3 egg yolks, 4 egg whites

¼ cup of sunflower oil

¼ cup of orange juice

1 ½ teaspoons of baking powder

1 teaspoon orange rind

¼ teaspoon cream of tartar


Method


Sift dry ingredients (except cream of tartar). Place in a mixer

Add oil, unbeaten yolks, orange juice and orange rind and mix until very smooth.

In a large basin, whip egg whites and tartar until very stiff.

Fold into the flour mixture.

Bake in an ungreased tube pan at 160C for 45 minutes.

Leave in the inverted pan until cool.

Ice with orange icing.
